Today marks week 13, so we are officially in the second trimester!
I read that as of this week, the baby can actually hear us. They've done studies where they stuck microphones in the uterus and 80% of words can be distinguished. Isn't that amazing? Baby will eventually recognize our voices. I'm going to try to talk to it more now that I know someone is listening.

So glad to hear everything is going well. When you talk to the little guy (or gal) tell him (or her) hi from me. Everybody at book club was very excited to hear your good news. Let us know when you find out any further information. I just got a copy of Jodi Picoult's new book, "Change of Heart."

Great to hear Baby Barnett is now at the point where they can listen to Britney Spears songs! Just kidding. With our first kid, I put earphones from my, ehem, walkman, on Jen's belly. Mainly it was all classical music...and that's 'bout all she digs right now, too. Weird. We didn't do that with the youngest: she likes musicals. :-) So, give that a try. Linkin Park might work. It's better than Barney or the Wiggles.
